Moving the cursor over a parenthesis highlights both that character and the corresponding parenthesis.
In the following figure, the cursor is immediately next to the inner parenthesis. The editor therefore highlights that and the matching parenthesis. The cursor can be on either side of a given parenthesis to invoke the highlighting.
